What is Spot UV Finishing?
Spot UV Finishing is a method of improving the look and durability of paper.
A light varnish is applied to the surface of the paper, before being treated with UV light.
The result is a high gloss finish that looks and feels different from untreated paper.
Much like lamination, UV Finishing is used to improve the look and durability of paper.
However aside from treating the entire surface, it can be used in specific places, hence "spot" finishing.
This is most often used to emphasise logos in striking fashion, with regular card or paper contrasted with glossy parts.
Spot UV finishing also adds a tactile element, being slighly raised, and different in texture to regular paper.
The result? A stylish, high quality design with a slightly raised, high gloss, logo design.
